Life is a day that doesn’t last for long
Hey! I am finally posting again, but only for a bit. I figure, I should at least write something then nothing at all. I am still gone. I will be coming home every weekend. I came home last weekened. Sorry I didn’t get online or post anything. I was extremly busy, and besides that fact…our internet was having problems and wouldn’t let me stay on for more than 3 minutes at a time. No joke.
Lets see, Ichthus. Yes…ah..Ichthus:
Ichthus was awesome, Hawk Nelson was right before Relient K, so that worked out great. That group is crazy. Thousand Foot Krutch and Kutless both were in the audience with us…actually watching Hawk Nelson perform. And, Hawk Nelson, being the band that they are…didn’t have very many groupies. Ha. They had to do sound checki themselves. So here is Jason Dunn, on stage going.
“Sccccheck, Sssscheck. Um *cough* Throw up your rawk fist? Wooooo”
And someone from TFK screamed, “HEY!”
Jason Dunn, “Hey everybody, watch these TFK guys down here, they are a crazy bunch and could get routy. Just do what they do tho.”
Jason: “Ok, Hmm…sound check. I had a weird dream last night…we were touring with TobyMac (ha….TobyMac…yea right) in my home city in Canada (Woooooo!) and we were jamming. And someone spilt a cup of acid on my leg so my leg was dangling off for the rest of the night the end.”
Yea, that was odd. What was funny was…TFK and Kutless were running through the audience passing out free HN stuff to whoever could chant “BOB NELKLAND” Loud enough. Of course it wasn’t “Bob Nelkland” that they were shouting…it sounded like it tho. They were chanting Hawk Nelson. Anyways, they’re concert was awesome. They said they loved Ichthus and hope they can come back again. They said they were going to be in their booth after Relient K played, because they wanted to so Relient K. Ha. So I figure…That I would go get some merch and get some autographs. Of course! Something has to go horribly wrong like every Ichthus.
Matt Theison, “Hmm, I hope we have enough time to perform…I hear the weather is supposed to get pretty bad..real soon.”
So I was standing in line for Relient K autographs…1 hour early. And very close to the front of the line, when Relient K finished. The head honcho of Ichthusd comes out on stage and says,
“Everybody needs to evacute the area immediately, there is a huge squall coming our way, with possible tornados. And cars are being blown off the highway….Oh by the way, this is mandatory. Everbody must leave!
Of course, as soon as he said that, there was a huge gust of wind and the sky became as dark as night. You should have seen it! People running and screaming…16,000 people. It was like a movie. It really was actually frightening. As everybody was walking like a bunch fish all packed together. Somehow everyone broke out into a round of “Jesus Loves Me” It was awesome, buyt also very strange. And actually kinda nasty because a huge cloud of dirt came at as right when about 100+ people were on the the chorus. Dirt doesn’t taste good.
Anyways, after we got to the van (there was no were else to go) we eventually left, because the rest of the night was canceled and the storm wasn’t giving up. TobyMac, and Audio Adrenaline. two of my favorite bands..canceled. Needless to say, that sucked a jar of pickles.
You wouldn’t believe…but the next day…Saturday..its was 30 degress with a high of 40!!!! It was snowing! And it was unbearably cold, of course no one came prepared for weather like that. No joke, I got a tan and was wearin sunglasses just the day before. The cold became so unbearable that (after Tait, of course) we left. It was awful for the performers as well. A bit of them even canceled. I heard, that when Barlow Girl played, it was so cold that they would shove their hands into a bucket of hot water in between songs! So yes, Half of Ichthus was great, the other half stunk!
What else? Oh yea, my dad is doing awesome. I spent the last week making a website for them and to let people know how my dad is doing. I won’t give out the link for privacy reasons.
I have much much more to say. Ill write it out when I get back home, seeing I know nobody likes to read long posts…heh. Au revior.
